My Journey…

From president and CEO of the boardroom to artisan extraordinaire! After selling my successful government contracting company I decided to follow my artistic heart and dream of creating colorful and wild masterpieces. I find my inspiration everywhere, the rainbow of colors nature has to offer, the calming yet powerful presence of the water (both my Florida and Maryland homes and studios are on the water!), and my best friend and sidekick, my dog Beauregard. My passion is creating wild, vibrant, and unique pieces that provide color and pizzazz to their forever homes. Creating pieces both small and large, there is something for everyone! My Favorite Medium…

Though I have dabbled in art of all forms, fused glass is by far my favorite medium. I feel I am able to express my creativity and love of color best when firing things in the kiln and watching my ideas come into their own. In my former life of running a government contracting company I used art as my escape, a hobby, expressing myself through watercolor, oil painting, interior design, and even photography. While I love art in all forms my creativity was best expressed when I discovered glasswork, and that’s when I turned my passion into a business! Designs By Sherilyne began when I discovered my love for glasswork and how the colors come together to create unique pieces of art.
